Who we are

At Perseus Land & Developments we are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of our visitors to our website, subscribers to our mailing lists as well as our investors and suppliers. We respect your privacy and therefore any personal data we hold or process will not be sold to any third parties. This policy details what data we collect, why and how we use it and how we keep it secure.

Types of data we collect

Website Cookies

Cookies are small pieces of data given to your browser by a website which may be stored as text files in the cookie directory of your computer. Cookies are not programs and cannot collect information from your computer. They do not damage your computer and are defined as “a piece of text stored on a user’s computer by their web browser. A cookie can be used for authentication, storing site preferences, shopping cart contents, the identifier for a server-based session, or anything else that can be accomplished through storing text data”. Each website may send cookie data to your browser which may save it if your browser’s preferences allow it to do so. To protect your privacy your browser only returns a cookie to the website that sent you the cookie and does not send it to any other website. A website cannot access your cookie directory or information on your computer, instead relevant cookies are included by your browser within each request you make to the website. A website can only obtain cookie data that your browser sends to it. The majority of browsers allow you to control cookies through the browser’s settings. For more information about cookies, including how to see what cookies have been set and how to manage and delete them, visit www.allaboutcookies.org or to opt out of being tracked by Google Analytics across all websites, visit tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Cookies used on our Website

PHPSESSID – a temporary cookie used by the content management system to manage browser sessions and is deleted once your browser is shut. This policy, in line with the new legislation is currently under review and should you require further information in the way we use this data, please contact us.

Google Analytics

When someone visits www.perseusland.co.uk we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site, which areas of the site are popular and those that can be improved. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

Mailing Lists

For those people who have given us permission to be added to our mailing list, the only data we hold on that mailing list is your name and email address. We use this information to send occasional marketing emails about Perseus Land & Developments, our services and thoughts or opinions on our industry that we think you might be interested in. We use a third party provider, MailChimp, to deliver these emails. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our communications. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice. Legitimate Interest

What is a Legitimate Interest?

Legitimate Interests are those uses of personal data that are deemed necessary or reasonably to be expected by a data subject (individual).

How we use Legitimate Interest

We treat our relationships with agents, land owners and care home operators as a legitimate interest and will occasionally contact them by email with a marketing email with our current requirements. We carried out a Legitimate Interest Assessment (LIA) and concluded that it is reasonable to contact them about business services and would not cause any impact on them personally. If you would like to see a copy of the LIA please contact Duncan Ford by email dford@perseusland.co.uk. You can unsubscribe to our mailing list at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of our emails or by contacting Duncan Ford.

Third Parties

As a rule we do not share your personal information with anyone, unless it is necessary to do so for legal or tax purposes.

Access to your personal information

You are entitled to view, amend, or delete the personal information that we hold. Email your request to Duncan Form at dford@perseusland.co.uk.

How we keep you data secure

SSL Encryption

HTTPS is a protocol used to provide security over the Internet. HTTPS guarantees that users are talking to the server they expect, and that nobody else can intercept or change the content they’re seeing in transit.

Secure Data Storage

One of the most effective methods of data protection for both personal and financial data is to simply not store it in the first place. We only store information that is relevant to us. All data stored is then subject to a retention policy to ensure we only have the information that is relevant to us.

Security Best Practices

We employ a variety of security tools and technologies such as malware detection, vulnerability scanning, web application firewalls to identify suspicious or malicious activity, with all data held on our servers sitting behind a firewall.
